Its finally official !! The former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will be back to octagons and will be facing the former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem for the latest UFC event in 2011. The fight will take place on Dec 30th in Vegas. Its the only confirmed bout for the event for now. That will be the main event, and the bout will be for 5 rounds. After losing the heavyweight belt against Cain Velasquez Lesnar was out of the octagons. He was diagnosed with diverticulitis, underwent a surgery to remove a 12-inch piece of his colon. Now he is back and healthy and states “I feel like a new man, healthy, strong, I feel like I used to feel.”
Overeem is really excited for this bout. He states "Brock is a big name, a dangerous guy, and this is a dream matchup," Overeem said. "Brock's a big guy, an exciting wrestler with his takedowns. I want to see this fight myself. Overall, I'm a different fighter. A striker, athletic, big. These are going to be two big trucks going at it on a collision course."
The winner will be most likely facing the winner of Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos winner for the heavyweight championship.
