Cro Cop eyeing return to MMA!

"Concerning my retirement from the UFC, I said it was my last fight for the UFC and last fight on the present contract, but I did not say, 'I won't keep fighting. I never said that. I think the best thing to say is that I was born to fight. If you ask me, when I look deep into my soul, of course I would like to fight MMA again. People don't get it. Martial arts is my life."

Cro Cop on TRT(testosterone replacement therapy) use

“I know guys have used this and used that, so many other things… I don’t know if any of it really helps, in martial arts anyway. One punch, one kick to the head, the liver, can end the fight. And secondly its a death, its a death for the body. For a few years of glory you are going to die at the age of 40, 45? Or your liver turns to cancer and you search for a new liver? I don’t know. I think its too dangerous. And for MMA I think you can prepare with everything natural, all natural substances. Nutrition, BCAA, protein shakes and glutamine. Four things I use. Every sportsman in every sports is taking this, or should. Plus vitamin B-complex, vitamin C, lots of fruit, lots of rest. I never liked all that other stuff, its dangerous to play with. As far as I am concerned, its too dangerous … But, its not my concern, whoever wants to take anything can take anything – one punch or kick can solve the problem. It’s dangerous, its not healthy, you can be caught, you can be suspended and you can be shamed. It is disgrace for your whole career to be caught with things you shouldn’t take. But most important thing, it is too dangerous. Thanks but no thanks.”

Mirko may not be retiring from fighting!

Well I’m talking about K-1… I don’t want to say too much but I am interested. Most important thing is health and I feel perfect now, I feel perfect and I needed this fight [with Sefo] to swim out of the bad mood, of the jinx, to swim out of everything.

I feel good and today I am enjoying my life. I was very depressed after my last fight in the UFC. The most important thing in life is health. If you have no health you cannot train, mentally you are closed off. You come to training in pain, or you know you cannot use your arm or kick hard because of some injury to the knee. It frustrates. But right now I am feeling very good.

As I told many times, but people got it wrong – each fight could be the last one for me. Injuries are serious in my sport. To tell you the truth, injuries are more of a threat in training and in some wild sparring than in the fight itself. We have crazy trainings and crazy sparring, so many things could happen.

If I get poked to the eye one more time like I did before the Mir fight, most probably I wouldn’t be able to fight any more. I was poked in the eye and the eye was bleeding – blood was coming from the eye itself. Serious injury; it had no effect on the fight but one more injury like that I will have to go for eye surgery and probably have a problem with it until the end of my life.

And that is from training. I never had an injury like that in my fights. Same with my knee, my foot. I hurt my knee training, not in the fight.

And one more thing – I am sick and tired of explaining to reporters – not you, not you! – but people who are calling me, journalists who I respect, and I am glad they are taking interest in me. But I don’t want to say I will fight ten more fights or one more fight. Maybe I will do fifteen more fights or I will do none… You will be informed about everything.

Right now I have some offers and I am thinking carefully about what to do. Right now I am still on vacation and I am back in training on Monday. So lets wait and see; I don’t want to keep discussing speculation on the next fight, the future. You know what I mean John – lets just wait and see what the future will bring. Right now I am ready and I have an offer for May, July and September. We will see which offer I take and which offers I will not take.

… Yes K-1… but I have some MMA offers as well. We will see. I don’t want to say too much! All I can see is I will see; I don’t want to talk too much.”

Pat Barry Loses Jiu Jitsu Match To Cro Cop

Pat Barry“Day two in Croatia. Did some weightlifting this morning then go back into the gym later this evening ready to kick some ass and [Cro Cop] challenges me to a jiu-jitsu match. Why the f*ck are we doing a jiu-jitsu match? I have no idea. He has a kickboxing match coming up, but whatever, I’m Pat, I’m in the f*cking UFC bitch, I’m in a video game, I’ll do it. So, set the terms, hit start, 30 minute round. I got submitted five times. Three Kimuras on my left arm, one triangle and some shit I can’t even name. But, because I lost, for the rest of my time here in Croatia the next two weeks, I have to refer to him as your majesty, Lord Cro Cop, and raise my hand and ask to have some water or use the bathroom, which is some shit because I already look like the f*cking Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Nelson about previous fight and Cro Cop

"It's good to just be back in the win column. It's sad to see 'Cro Cop' is done, but all I know is that if he doesn't want to retire, he's still got fight left in him. He hits hard and he can still bang around, and he can tear it up with the rest of them. I had to hit him and make him pay. The second round, I hit him hard and I thought I had him. Then he hit me, and he put me on defense real fast. So I put him on his back, and there wasn't much offense after that."

Roy Nelson 2.0 succeeds, Cro Cop retires after loss.

Well, that was a Co-main event worthy bout. White didn't like him performing that bad in the co-main event against Mir. It seems that Nelson has learned his lesson from those statements. He came up with a smaller belly, added some muscle and he has a lot better shape now. He improved his cardio and he was faster.

The first round started with exchanging of shots of both heavyweights. Nelson managed a successfull takedown in the first round. Nothing more actually happened in the first round.

In the second round Cro Cop pushed the phase and caught Nelson connecting a huge combo of beautiful punches, uppercuts and some great body shots. Nelson in my opinion has the best chin over all heavyweights. I wasn't expecting him to fall or lose   consciousness, and it happened that way. He survived. The guy can take best of Mir, Dos Santos and many other heaviest hitters. Now Cro Cop added to the list of who failed to finish him. Per contra his face was bloodied badly after those devastating shots. Later in the round Nelson put Cro Cop in a crucifix position on the mat. He was almost finishing him with the punches using the positions advantage. Mirko survived and round was over.

In the third round Nelson caught Mirko with heavy bomb like punches resulting him slip on the mat. Nelson very quickly took the side control firstly and rotated his body and got over him  from behind starting to punish with the sledge hammer like shots. Mirko didn't survive these bombs resulting the inevitable referee stoppage.

Nelson in the post fight interview with Joe Rogan stated: “Everybody give it up for Cro Cop, he’s given us in MMA as a fighter, as a fan, so much. It was awesome to compete with a legend.”

He also must have liked what Sonnen did in the last event. :) He is a funny guy.

“I guess I’m going to do a Chael Sonnen right now, I’m supposed to call out somebody,” Nelson stated. “Who’s fighting in a couple weeks? I think Junior (Dos Santos) and (Cain) Velasquez. I want the championship, I’m getting too old for this (expletive) so I kind of want to hurry this (expletive) up. So that’s who I want.”

Unfortunately for Mirko he finished his career with a 3 fight loss streak. In the after fight review with Joe Rogan he stated:

“I told before this fight this was going to be my farewell fight. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it. I wanted to say goodbye with a victory, but Roy was just better tonight. Congratulations....”

He also apologized for it. But there was no apology needed after such a huge career. Mirko Cro Cop was a legend and we will always remember him "Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery"

Long live Legend. Thanks for what you have done for the sport!

Nelson thinks Mir fight was his biggest preparation

Roy Nelson The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 winner told these in an interview:

“The guy that prepared me the best for Cro Cop was probably Frank Mir because he’s a southpaw. It’s a completely big switch. Your angles are different, your punches come at a different angle, how you need to approach, and how you need to punch him is different. It’s kind of like Anderson vs. Chael (Sonnen). Anderson beats up all the orthodox guys, but as soon as he gets another southpaw it screws him up. Going from southpaw to southpaw and keeping that the same, I just hope when I fight an orthodox guy it’s not going to screw me up. Fighting an orthodox guy is a completely different beast than fighting a southpaw.”

Cro Cop says it may be his last fight

Sad to see every legend betrayed by aging. These words are from the pre-fight conference

“I wish you could see the new Cro Cop, 15 years younger, and I wish it’s possible, but unfortunately, I’m 37 and this could easily be my last fight in the UFC. It has nothing to do with the result of the fight. If I win or lose, especially if I lose. Even if I win, this could be my last fight in the UFC, and I will really give my best. My stamina and conditioning is maybe the best I’ve ever had. I’m 240, and I’m not fat. I’ve trained hard for this fight, and of course I could keep fighting, but every man comes to the point of he asks himself ‘do I need it anymore?"

Roy Nelson 2.0 about changing weight class, his new look and more

There has been many talking about his beard, his new look, a possibility for him to drop to 205 pounds in some forums. Well after losing to Mir  in the Co-Main event with a really poor performance a lot has been said.  President Dana White wasn't happy with the performance and had stated after the bout "I thought Big Country looked terrible tonight. He sat up here talking about he got out-wrestled, he looked terrible tonight. He needs to make some serious career decisions. People talk about him making 205 -- listen, that would be a huge life change and a tough thing for him to do, how about 240? Let's make 240, Roy. The fat thing was funny for a while, it's not funny anymore. It's not funny when you're the co-main event in a big fight like that and the fight looks the way that it did tonight."

After all these he also tweeted changes about his training. He migrated to Nelson 2.0. He stated he needs to be faster. I also believe he had very serious cardio problem in Mir fight. This week from the pictures we've seen we really thought there is a  huge difference of how he looks. He says its an illusion and nothing has changed in terms of weight. He also believes he can fight 3 rounds against Cro Cop.

"I think it's my beard, it makes my face look smaller and we know Forrest is off and he's a big light heavyweight, he's about 4-5 inches taller than me. I'm probably; the other day when I weighed myself I was 262 so I was two pounds heavier than what I was for against Frank."

People also discussed him dropping to 205 lbs. And here is what Nelson says about dropping to 205 lbs :)

"I would ask you, 'How much?' and then I'd need to figure out how much I could lose off of liposuction or getting amputated from cutting my leg off. Biologically? I'd have to lose muscle. That's one thing people don't pay attention to is like I wouldn't do a gastric bypass but I'd have to literally cut off my leg and I'd be a one-legged 205-er but I'd still do pretty good."

His opinions about Junior Dos Santos possibly would upset Cain Velasquez @ UFC on FOX.

"Upsetting Cain? I don't think it would be an upset so much. I think whoever controls the fight in the first 2 and a half minutes is going to go on to win the fight."

About getting compared with Matt Mitrione and Brendan Shaub.

"I don't really know here I'd put them two, but with me, I know I'm game to fight Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos. I've been fighting those top dogs all the way ever since I've gotten out of the Ultimate Fighter house. I do think this is the first test for Matt Mitrione so we'll find out on Saturday if he can even get past a guy that's been in the UFC for while. Brendan has definitely shown that he's right there in the middle of the pack beating Gonzaga and then Gonzaga retires so it all depends. For myself, I put myself in the top five easy and then Brendan 5-10 and then 10-15 for Matt."

Cro Cop planning to kick Barry's a$$ :)

This is a very recent UFC tweet :)

Cro Cop says Pat Barry sold him out by putting their "California Dreamin" performance on YouTube and plans to kick his ass when he sees him

Roy Nelson says he has been working out in the cemetery:)

Here is what he says about Cro Cop fight.

"I've just been working out in the cemetery a lot. I've got to get ready for the left kick. I want to see what it's like. All fights are dire. I've seen guys get cut after one. I've seen guys lose three or four and still have a job. In this business, there's no rhyme or reason. It's MMA. It's like when you go into the Octagon: anything can happen."

Regardless of Mirko's retirement, Roy Nelson has to win this one. He is on a 2 fight loss streak, things possibly won't be going well unless he wins.

Cro Cop: I Want to Prove to Everybody That I'm Still 'Cro Cop'

Mirko Cro Cop the Crotian striker, 2006 Pride Champion, "Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery" may be at the last days in his UFC career. Cro Cop holding a UFC record of 4-5 will be fighting against Roy Nelson @ UFC 137 for the last bout in his contract. It's not expected to get renewed which is also stated by UFC President White. He said he's most likely to retire after his loss to Brendan Shaub.

Here is what he thinks about his next and maybe the last fight in the UFC.

"I must win this fight. ...I will have to beat him, and I will do it. I trained six months for this fight. I will do it. Some people, many people, buried me alive because I lost twice in a row. I just want to prove to everybody that I'm still Cro Cop. ...I want to raise from the grave. That's what I want to prove to everybody. That's my motivation. I want to feel that feeling when the referee raises my hand. I want to take that shower -- it's a special moment for me, taking that shower after my victory, and I'm so happy. I go back to the hotel and the next day I'm so happy. I don't even think about [money] until the UFC bookkeeper calls me a few days later to transfer the money."

Mirko Cro Cop talking about Chael Sonnen!

Mirko Cro Cop responded Chael Sonnen in a Crotian Sports program.

“The man holds a PhD in idiocy. Pardon me but I have to express myself this way. PhD in idiocy. Not the regular kind, one with a degree in stupidity. Ahh… Let him say whatever he wants. In the end this is a democracy. Anyone can say what they want. I am only sorry that he is missing 30 pounds because I would beat his ass so bad, he would multiply 3 times. In anger I would be him up so bad that I would split him apart. I would clone him in three specimens… I’m hoping one day that I might see him summering in Croatia so I can iron his ass. So that steam will shoot out of his pompous ass. That’s what he needs to know.”
