Jon Jones Releases a Statement Based on UFC 151 Being Canceled

“I definitely apologize to the other fighters on the card. I feel terrible, but it also wasn’t my decision to cancel the whole card. I don’t make those decisions.”

“I take a lot of pride in the way I perform, and I want to put on the best performance possible every time I fight. I don’t want to go out there just to win the fight. I want to go out there to dominate. I want to make it look effortless. I want it to be a beautiful thing.”

“If this was my first fight in the UFC and I really didn’t have a choice and they needed somebody to step in last-minute, if it was that type of scenario, then I’d probably more open to it,” Jones said. “But I’m a UFC champion, and I need to perform that way. If I would have taken this fight, that would have been letting my ego get in the way and not using my intellect. This is war, and you have to go in there prepared.

“The criticism does bother me, but I have to stand by my decision. I have to be the man that I am. With such large audiences comes great criticism. There will be a lot of scrutiny, but I’ve got to do what makes me happy and feels right to me. At the end of the day, I have to make the best choice for me and my family.”

Dan Henderson's Statement on UFC 151 due to his injury

"Sadly and unfortunately, I partially tore a ligament in my knee in training. As a result I’ve had to make one of the toughest decisions that I have ever had to make... for the first time in my career I am forced to pull out of a fight, my fight with Jon Jones at UFC 151. Luckily, surgery is not needed at this time and I will be completely devoted to rehabing my knee as quickly as possible.

I feel that I owe it to my fans and all the people supporting me to fight at my full potential in order to give myself a chance to win the UFC title. I appreciate the loyal support that I have felt from my fans. I want to thank all of my coaches and team of guys for the great support with my training camp.

Most importantly, I appreciate their honesty when I needed them the most to make this very difficult decision. I also want to thank Dana and Lorenzo for being so understanding and supportive. I will continue to pursue the UFC belt with all of my heart!"

Jon Jones has a message for Dan Henderson

"As far as Dan Henderson, I'm excited about him, he's a great fighter. You know, I've gone through a lot with Rashad as far as all of the trash talking and I really hope Dan's listening and I really hope that Dan keeps it classy throughout this fight. I respect him as an older man, I respect him as a warrior and I just hope he keeps it classy and not drag me through another trash-talking bout. Let's stick to why we're really here, let's just fight."

Dan Henderson thinks he knows how to beat Jones

“You’ve really got to get inside and fight with him and end up in the clinch with him a lot. Jones is better than most guys in the clinch. … (But) that’s where I’m most comfortable. At the same time I need to be real careful with catching one of those goofy elbows that he throws… I look at my clinch as a little more active clinch, where I’m always looking for takedowns or different angles or strikes and things, (so) I don’t really look to those guys for clinch knowledge. I think we have two different views on the clinch.”

Bisping on Munoz and possible Henderson rematch

On Munoz : “I have never really looked at Mark Munoz and thought he looked like a particularly dangerous opponent.His ground and pound looks good, his wrestling doesn’t look all that dangerous, his stand up is suspect and he’s got a weak chin. I think Tim Boetsch is probably a harder fight.”
On the Hendo Rematch : I would 100 per cent be interested in a rematch. Made a lot of mistakes in the build-up to that fight and I have grown as a fighter.

Dana White: Henderson still waiting for title shot!

Dana White: “He wants a title fight. He either wants Anderson Silva or whoever has the belt at 185 or the winner of Evans and Jones,” White said at the recent UFC on Fox 3 press conference in New York City. “Last time I talked to Henderson, he wanted to wait to fight one of these guys for the title. He’ll fight whoever has that belt,” said White, musing on situation. “Dan doesn’t seem too picky, I think he would fight Chael Sonnen if he won the belt from Silva.”

Dana White doesn't know what to do with Dan Henderson

“He doesn’t want to fight Machida. He doesn’t want to wait. He’s going to have to wait. Who does he want to fight? I don’t know what to do with Dan. Dan’s either going to have to wait for (Jon) Jones or wait for (Anderson) Silva. Or fight somebody else.”

Lyoto Machida thinks about Jon Jones rematch within time, wants Dan Henderson next!

I believe there are athletes who can defeat him. I guess being well trained is possible, I believe in my work and, within time, I guess I’ll have another opportunity. My next step is not Jon Jones, I’m not thinking about it. I’m much more worried about my next fight.

I’m waiting UFC’s suggestion. I guess in April or May, but in case it doesn’t happen I’ll suggest Dan Henderson, who’s a good guy. I know he’s on the line for the belt, but if this fight against Jon Jones doesn’t happen, I’d like to fight him. He’s a legend in the sport, a champion in many events, like Rings, Pride, Strikeforce… I’d like to test my technique against his."

Dana White: Jones called up four days ago and said ‘okay, let’s go I’m done with vacation.’ He said he wanted to take all this time off and then they were calling me four days ago saying he wants to fight as soon as possible. He’s ready to go…What could end up happening is Dan Henderson fights Jon Jones first, and then it would be close to the time that Rashad Evans fights. Or we see how things go with Rashad and Rashad fights him first.”

Jones vs. Henderson fight may happen soon ?

Jones told that he wants to fight asap. And we already know Dan Henderson wants to test Jones' chin. And Rahsad Evans vs. Phil Davis is going to happen soon. In the meantime why not a title fight could happen. It's just a rumor for the moment, as people say it could be @ UFC 145. We'll see..
