On the fight : I could have attacked more, but I stayed in the punching range and it's not the smartest thing to do against Junior. I could have used more wrestling and attacked and I didn't do any of these things. But, it is something that I have learned from moving forward.
On UFC 146 : It's going to be a tough one. I think in the clinch and in the distance, obviously the kicking range, Overeem will have a better shot. But, in the punching range, dos Santos can win the fight whenever.I hope Dos Santos wins so I can have a rematch. I think he will win, he is an athletic guy, his boxing is really good"

“I’m a realist. I knew I wasn’t going to go through my career undefeated. That’s how this sport is. People lose. Even the best guys lose. I knew as soon as it was over, I had to pick myself back up and keep going forward. I do have some extra motivation now, for sure, but I wish that for that night things had gone differently and that the fans had gotten the fight they came to see. Ultimately, I let myself down. I don’t ever want that to happen, and not for Fox or anything else. I want to go out there and win. Stuff happens. I get that, but I definitely wasn’t happy with my performance. What it comes down to it, I don’t want to be in that position again.”

“Frank Mir, for me, is one of the best in the business, I’d probably have to give the edge to Frank for this fight. Cain’s an absolute beast, he’s coming off a loss and I think we’ll see a new Cain coming off a loss. But what a great fight. Tough one to pick. Mir offers a lot of problems for Cain and he’s not the type of guy you want to take down. His stand-up’s looking better every fight, so if I had to pick, I’d go Mir. Both of those guys are on my radar, I’ll focus on Ben Rothwell and then start thinking about those guys later.”

Junior Dos Santos most likely to go under surgery

Its really sad to see such talented guys out of action for a very long time. But its true that the sport is too hard for athletes avoid injury. It took Cain Velasquez to defend his title after Lesnar 13 months. He was diagnosed with torn rotator in shoulder and had to take a surgery. Now its time for Junior Dos Santos who finished Velasques in 64 seconds. After the fight he revealed that he fought with a torn meniscus. He is most likely to have a surgery which will possibly sideline him for at least 5 months.

Shane Carwin thinks Cain Velasquez will get his belt again.

"I know we are about to call the Cain hype train derailed. I want to remind you guys how young and talented he is. Junior hits hard and is accurate. This should not be a surprise to any of you. Cain is a young talented fighter and if you want to see the qualities of a UFC Champion you have to look no farther then Cain. Everyone loses it is what they do with that loss that defines them. I am certain that Cain will be a Champion again."

Cain Velasquez not happy with performance, admits it was his fault not sticking to his gameplan.

Cain at the post fight press conference stated "My knee was fine. It was my fault I didn't pressure enough. I played Dos Santos's game and he caught me, it was my fault."

Brock Lesnar on Cain vs JDS fight

Brock was on FOX TV as the guest fight analyst with Dana White. He said these about the fight: "I’ll tell ya, this heavyweight belt cannot stay in one man’s hands for very long. My hat’s off to Junior dos Santos, but that’s the truth. All it takes is the right punch at the right time and it’s a matter of a minute and four seconds. I was very surprised that Cain was so apprehensive in this fight. To me, it looked like he was trying to feel it out a little bit and I thought, ‘This guy should be pressuring him. He needs to be pressuring him.' Maybe it was a confidence thing. Maybe Cain wanted to come in and feel this thing out, but as it was shown, that was the wrong decision. He has a track record here too. Junior dos Santos is a knockout artist, okay? And I’ll be watching this and analyzing this, but I absolutely thought Cain should have pushed the fight and closed the distance and utilize what got him to the big event: His wrestling."

Velasquez down in 64 seconds! Junior dos Santos is the new UFC Heavyweight Champion!!!

Omg! What a fight. Junior Dos Santos KO'ed the best remaining unbeaten in UFC. Cain tasted loss for the first time. Santos caught Cain with a huge overhand right. Cain went down, and Santos threw more punches resulting referee stopping the fight.

In the post fight interview with Joe Rogan Santos stated: “I have no words to say what I’m feeling. It’s amazing, my life. I want to thank all of my team, all my family, I’ve got a lot of good people around me. Thank you very much.”

Cain in the post fight interview stated: “I’m sorry for all the fans, my family and my friends that I disappointed you. I will come back. I will get this belt back for sure.”

Dos Santos will face the winner of Alistair Overeem vs Lesnar which will take place @ UFC 140.
