Randy Couture on Retirement, Son's career, Fedor Emelianenko
On retirement: "Absolutely, I think it was the right decision for me and I think nowadays it's a rare thing as an athlete to get to go out on your own terms and choose when your last fight is going to be and not have somebody else tell you can't do it anymore, either for injury or if you sustained a couple of losses in the sport of MMA and everybody's chattering that you should retire, especially at 48. So I kind of chose that this was going to be the last one, win, lose or draw and I am very comfortable with the decision."
Son's Career: "He is certainly on the right track. This was a big step up in competition for him. Conor Heun is no slouch, he is a very, very good fighter. He's been around a while, he's fought some top guys like K.J. Noons and others, so most people saw Ryan as the underdog going into this fight. He had a great camp, it was fun to see the peak for him coming on and then to go out and have the performance that he had. I think it's only going to get tougher for him from here on out and I think he is up for it. He's a smart kid, he does the work, he is very diligent and he has a strong passion for the sport."
On Fedor: "Nah, I mean, things work out the way they are supposed to work out. I got so many examples of that in my life. It just never worked out, and you know, it is what it is. I don't have any regrets. I wish then when we were both kind of at our peak, if it would have happened it would have been something special, the cards didn't just come out that way."
B.J. Penn still undecided on retirement
“I’m enjoying my time away from the sport. That’s where I am right now, I’m living a regular life instead of living the roller coaster. I haven’t lived a normal life in 15 years.I’m trying to find myself a little bit — not as a fighter trying to come back to the sport but just as a person. I just honestly sit back and reflect and look at how it went. I really do feel I could have done a lot better in a lot of different situations. I’m heartbroken with the way some of the fights went. The way my UFC 94 fight [against Georges St. Pierre] and my fights with Frankie Edgar went, I’m heartbroken about those fights. I feel I could have made better choices, but I don’t feel a major urge that I’ve got to go fix that right now.”

GSP upset on potential Nick Diaz retirement
"I'm disappointed because of all of the build-up for the fight. Emotionally, I wanted to fight Nick Diaz. Carlos won the fight, he fought smart, and it is what it is. Carlos is an incredible martial artist. I want to fight the best man, so Carlos is the best man. It was a close fight, it could have went either way. I wouldn't have been surprised if it went either way. I do believe that maybe Carlos won the judges' decision because he used more weapons and he was more flamboyant than Diaz. But, on the other side, Diaz was - at the end he took the back. It was a tough fight. I just don't know what to say. I'm not surprised by the result, but I'm disappointed a little bit. Diaz's retirement announcement upset me. But, what can I do? I want to be the best. I don't want to be second or third. I want to be number-one, and to be number-one, I've got to fight the number-one guy."
Tito Ortiz calls out Forrest Griffin for retirement fight
Tito : "Forrest, you know I deserve it, man. Step up. Let's do this. It's an awesome fight for you. I lost my last one. You lost your last one. Let's do this -- unless your scared!"
Griffin : "He knows better than that. You know what's funny about me and Tito? The truth is we each consider the other an easy fight. For me, that's the perfect 'get right' fight. Coming back from a bad loss and beating Tito Ortiz up? No problem. For Tito, he's thinking, 'Forrest ain't that good. He's getting old, prematurely. This is a great way to go out, with a win over Forrest!' So, I think it's a beautiful match up because we both think of the other as an easy fight."
Griffin: “Wanna know how fights get done now? If enough people get on Twitter, it’ll happen. If enough people get on Twitter and tell ‘em that’s what they want, that’s what’s gonna happen. It has to be done.”

Brock Lesnar Retires after loss to Alistair Overeem
After loss to Overeem in the post fight interview with Joe Rogan, Brock Lesnar announced that he retired.
"My hat's off to Alistair Overeem. I want to take my hat off to all my training partners, my wife, my family. I've had a really difficult couple years with my disease, and I'm going to officially say tonight is the last time you'll see me in the Octagon.I want to thank everybody. Fertittas, Dana White. I'm officially retired. I promised my wife and kids if I won this fight, I'd make one last shot at the title and then retire. But … Alistair, it was a pleasure."
Ortiz possibly retiring soon
Tito : Maybe it's time. I don't know. I guess when I leave on my own terms -- and I look at it as, when I don't have fun coming in the gym anymore, sparring and pushing myself and running every day, maybe it is time. I'm not overstaying my welcome.
My goal in my whole career was to do 15 years in MMA. May 30 will be my 15th year of fighting in the UFC and in MMA, in general. ... This'll be fight No. 26 for me, I think. (Note: Online databases indicate that Ortiz also one additional fight outside UFC) So I'll have 27 and walk away. I think I've done good.
I don't know. But you never know. You never know if Dana and Lorenzo come to me with some numbers that make sense to me. I'm healthy.
I just don't want to have another surgery in my neck or my back anymore. My doctor says, "Out of surgery, you'll get three years. And after that, you may have to have surgery again if you keep doing the banging."
Is it worth it not being able to run with my kids or wrestle with my kids or throw a football with my kids when they get older? A million dollars ain't worth it.

Cro Cop says it may be his last fight
Sad to see every legend betrayed by aging. These words are from the pre-fight conference
“I wish you could see the new Cro Cop, 15 years younger, and I wish it’s possible, but unfortunately, I’m 37 and this could easily be my last fight in the UFC. It has nothing to do with the result of the fight. If I win or lose, especially if I lose. Even if I win, this could be my last fight in the UFC, and I will really give my best. My stamina and conditioning is maybe the best I’ve ever had. I’m 240, and I’m not fat. I’ve trained hard for this fight, and of course I could keep fighting, but every man comes to the point of he asks himself ‘do I need it anymore?"
